Celebrate a Green Halloween COC-Style!

The multicoloured leaves are falling to the ground, there's a chill in the air, and the sun goes to bed earlier and earlier each night. In other words, spooky season is among us! As we embrace the magic of this season, we encourage you to celebrate Halloween in a way that's not only festive, but also environmentally conscious. How you may ask? Continue reading friends, because we have all the tips for you!

Picking Leaves for Decoration!

Imagine a crisp autumn day spent hiking through the trails, surrounded by the vibrant hues of changing leaves. This year, we're swapping traditional decorations for nature's own artwork. Join us on a scenic hike (psssst, were going to Owl's Head this Saturday!), and let's gather fallen leaves to create beautiful and biodegradable decorations for our Halloween festivities. Pro tip: glue the golden leaves to a mason jar you have in your cabinet and pop a candle inside to make a cozy lantern. The possibilities are endless!

DIY Costumes/Costume Swaps!

Halloween costumes don't have to contribute to fast fashion waste. Get creative by making your own costume using recycled materials, it doesn't have to be complicated! Also, remember that costume your roommate wore last year that was so cool? Take it for another spin, it would be a shame to have it collecting dust in the closet for another year!

Support Local Farms for your Halloween treats!

Enjoy the flavors that are in season with locally sourced and organic treats. From crisp apples to pumpkin delights, we've gathered a few places in the Montreal area where you could go to not only satisfy your sweet tooth, but also support local farmers. To name a few, check out the produce at Jean-Talon Market, Atwater Market and Quinn Farm!

Spooky Cabin Trip with COC!

For a truly unique Halloween experience, join us on a spooky cabin trip November 3rd-5th! Embrace the chill in the air, dress warmly, and celebrate the season surrounded by nature. You can expect some outdoor activities, a bunch of fun games, new friends and spooky vibes to set you right into Halloween mode!

So folks, get ready for a Halloween with an eco-conscious twist, where the spirit of nature harmonizes with the festivities, and each move we make is a leap toward a greener future. Stay tuned for more details on our upcoming Spooky Cabin trip and join us in making this Halloween a memorable and sustainable experience!
